Soji Jacobs, Olu Jacobs’ son, spoke to a tabloid on Sunday, addressing the fake news trending on social media. “The family is tired of this rumor that keeps recurring every year,” Soji stated.
He recounted how he contacted the publisher of one of the blogs spreading the rumor. “The person dropped the phone as soon as he realized who he was talking to,” Soji added. “We have been getting calls from all over the world from people who want to confirm if the story is true. My mum is on the phone right now answering multiple calls. This is annoying.”
At the time of filing this report, the family was planning to go out with the 82-year-old Olu Jacobs to show that he is alive and well. Similarly, his wife, Joke Silva, also debunked the rumor, saying, “My husband is alive and doing just fine.”
