The Nigerian man who turned heads at the 2024 edition of Ojude Oba festival returned for the 2025 edition to steal the show again.
Farooq Oreagba, who earned the “King of Steeze” tag after his stunning 2024 appearance, set the bar super high after his fashion strides one year ago. However, the popular fashionista still managed to exceed expectations at the latest edition of the festival.
In 2024, the investment banker was on everyone’s lips after his dazzling entrance at the Ojude Oba festival, riding on the back of a glammed-up horse and rocking a fitting green and lemon “agbada and sokoto” made from aso-oke.
Farooq’s attire was spiced up with a matching fila (headgear), red coral beads, and a gold crossbody chain. And his tattoos, huge tobacco pipe, Apple wristwatch, and fashionable sunglasses did more than enough to perfect an appearance that guaranteed his deserved rise to the top of the trends in the country.
Returning this year for the 2025 edition of the festival, Farooq turned heads in yet another stunning brown aso-oke agbada and sokoto, complemented by silver jewellery, a Cuban link chain and a gold staff with a lion sceptre.
The Ojude Oba festival is a yearly celebration in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, which unites people from all walks of life.
It is a respected tradition that dates back to the 19th century, and it involves the people of Ijebu paying homage to their monarch, the Awujale of Ijebuland.
The festival originated from the Muslim community’s gratitude to the Awujale for letting them practice their faith without any form of discrimination or hindrance.
During this year’s celebration, several age groups, known as “regberegbe”, flaunted superb traditional attire, engaged in exciting horse-riding competitions and displayed rich cultural performances.
The Ojude Oba festival emphasises the community’s heritage and unity, showcasing the beauty of Yoruba culture via entertainment.
