The Managing Director of the Kantin Kwari Market Corporation, Ambassador Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama, has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for being honored as the Best Nigerian Governor of the Year 2024 in Educational Development by the prestigious New Telegraph Newspaper.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Ambassador Dogon Nama stated that Governor Yusuf’s selection was a result of his administration’s unwavering commitment to educational reforms. These include the declaration of a state of emergency on education, the sponsorship of 1,001 postgraduate students abroad, the recruitment of teachers, the provision of classrooms, instructional materials, desks, and chairs, as well as the allocation of 29.5% and 31% of the total state budget to education in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
In his congratulatory message, Ambassador Dogon Nama expressed confidence that Governor Yusuf will continue prioritizing the education sector to achieve the desired reforms.
The award was presented to Governor Yusuf by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Publisher of New Telegraph newspaper, alongside the former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
“This achievement reflects Governor Yusuf’s passion for empowering the youth and ensuring that education remains a cornerstone of development in our great state,” Dogon Nama remarked.
“On behalf of the Kantin Kwari Market Corporation, we celebrate this milestone and reaffirm our support for your visionary leadership. May this award inspire even greater accomplishments as you continue to lead Kano State toward a brighter and more prosperous future,” he added.
