Bayern Munich striker, Harry Kane has said he never felt cursed during his trophy drought.
The England captain finally lifted the Bundesliga trophy with Bayern Munich on Saturday – the first trophy of his entire football career.
Speaking during a recent interview with ESPN, Kane revealed that hard work and dedication have always been his habit as a footballer, so even when the trophies were not coming, he stayed focused on improving and getting better.
According to him, it definitely feels good to be a champion at last, and it was great for the players to celebrate the title at the Allianz Arena with a good win.
“It feels good to be a champion. It’s been a long time coming, a lot of hard work. I feel really happy. To celebrate now here at the Allianz after a good win, it’s been a good week for sure,” he said.
Kane stressed that football is like life, and obstacles are to be expected along the way, so he simply had to find a way to overcome the challenges he kept facing as a footballer.
The ex-Tottenham striker believes that while he has not been very lucky as a footballer, he hopes the Bundesliga title will be the first of many more trophies.
The Bundesliga champion said that the aim is to win 2 or 3 more trophies next year and then see how he can end his career on a high.
“I don’t think so. In life and in football there are sometimes obstacles in your way and you have to find a way to get over them.
Every year I have had the same mindset to improve and get better. It’s not always been lucky for me, but now hopefully this is the first of many. Next year it is about getting two or three and seeing how many I can get before the end of my career,” he added.
