Veteran Fuji musician Kollington Ayinla has said that his ex-partner and fellow music legend, Salawa Abeni, is still his wife
He recently revealed that despite Salawa’s present relationship with another man, she remains his woman.
Speaking during an interview on The Teju Babyface Show, Kollington said that Salawa remains tied to him for life due to their shared history and kids, so the man she is currently with is only borrowing her at the moment.
According to him, he has never seen her as just a concubine, and they only seperated years ago due to the several challenges that come with being a celebrity.
“That is how God wants it to be. She has three children with me; she is more than just a concubine. She is my wife for life.
She is a celebrity. And just like women chase after male stars, male fans also throw themselves at female stars. But a woman’s understanding is limited,” he said.
Kollington stated that despite their split, Salawa still shows up for him from time and time, hence his reason for maintaining that she’ll continue to be his wife no matter what.
“No matter what I am doing, she always turns up. She’s still my wife. The person she is currently with is only borrowing her,” he added.
Kollington and Salawa Abeni were once admired as the ultimate power couple in the Nigerian entertainment industry, especially among fans of fuji music.
While they never tied the knot, their relationship and romance was the talk of the town for several years, and it birthed 3 beautiful kids they are both proud of till today.
Despite their separation, they have remained good friends who keep showing up for each another while maintaining a cordial relationship.
