Popular American singer Teyana Taylor has said that she’ll be undergoing emergency surgery soon.
She recently revealed that the surgery is meant to help address a noncancerous growth on one of her vocal cords.
Speaking via her Instagram page, Teyana shared that she decided to see a surgeon because the growth has been causing her vocal difficulties and discomfort.
According to the vocalist, because of her current health condition, she’ll be cancelling upcoming appearances, including a scheduled podcast appearance with former First Lady Michelle Obama.
She, however, reassured fans that her upcoming album will still be released on August 22, 2024, as planned.
“I’VE BEEN QUIETLY DEALING WITH SOME VOCAL CHALLENGES FOR A WHILE NOW, AND AFTER A LOT OF BACK AND FORTH WITH MY DOCTORS, I’VE BEEN TOLD I NEED VOCAL SURGERY IMMEDIATELY. THEY FOUND A NONCANCEROUS GROWTH ON ONE OF MY CORDS THAT’S BEEN MESSING WITH MY VOICE AND CAUSING REAL DISCOMFORT. THANKFULLY, WE CAUGHT IT & IT’S TREATABLE-BUT IT DOES MEAN I NEED TO PAUSE AND GIVE MYSELF TIME TO FULLY HEAL.
BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAVE TO STEP BACK FROM SOME UPCOMING APPEARANCES, INCLUDING MRS OBAMA’S PODCAST TAPING AT MARTHA’S VINEYARD THIS WEEKEND, AND THAT HONESTLY BREAKS MY HEART. I DON’T TAKE LIGHTLY WHAT IT MEANS TO SHOW UP FOR Y’ALL.

Expressing her gratitude to fans for their unwavering love and support, Taylor reiterated that she’ll need some time to focus on her health and recovery.
The singer concluded by thanking her fans for standing by her side through good and bad times.
