Popular singer Taylor Swift has refuted reports saying she turned down the opportunity to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl. She recently revealed that the reports saying she rejected the rapper’s offer are false, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Swift explained that she never declined the opportunity to take to the stage because she would not own the footage.
According to her, while Jay-Z has always been good to her over the years, he has not formally presented a Super Bowl offer to her or her team.
“No. Here’s the thing. JAY-Z has always been very good to me. Our teams are really close. Like, they sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [the Super Bowl]’ and that’s not like an official offer or, like, an official conference room conversation,” she said.
Taylor Swift further noted that having to worry about her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, while he risks his life as an NFL player, has also limited her time to focus on a potential Super Bowl performance.
She concluded by saying that it is impossible for her to be thinking about the perfect choreography to dazzle the fans while she is worried about her man’s well-being during dangerous NFL games.
“We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that, like, I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.
That is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous.
The whole season I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if he was out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be?” she added.
