Former Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon has urged Harry Kane to make his return to the club this summer.
He recently shared that he would love to see the English striker return to England.
Speaking to the press during an interview, Lennon said that he expects Kane to get a Tottenham statue if he can sanction the homecoming transfer from Bayern Munich when the transfer window opens.
According to him, it would be the icing on the cake for Harry to finish his football career at Spurs because he is a Tottenham boy through and through.
Lennon, however, admitted that he won’t mind seeing the centre forward make his comeback after winning more trophies in Germany.
“I’d love to see it. I think that would be the icing on the cake for Harry to finish at Spurs. He is a Spurs boy through and through.
He loves the football club, he’s idolised by the fans. There will probably be a statue of Harry one day, especially if he comes back. I’d love to see him come back once he’s won a few trophies,” he said.
He further noted that he was lucky to play alongside Kane when he was much younger, stressing that his incredible potential was already obvious at his young age.
He concluded by saying that the striker’s success over the years has not been shocking at all because he is a thorough professional.
“100 per cent. What a player. I was fortunate to play with Harry when he was a young boy, coming through, breaking into the team.
We could all see his quality from then, but what he’s gone on to do, it’s not surprising, because of the pro he already was at that age, but like I said, he deserves it. I’m buzzing for him,” he added.
