The Nigeria Police Force is undergoing a major leadership change in its public relations department, with CSP Benjamin Hundeyin poised to step into the national spotlight as the new Force Public Relations Officer.
Hundeyin, who has effectively managed media relations for the Lagos State Police Command since March 2022, will be moving from the commercial capital to Force Headquarters in Abuja to take on the prestigious national role. His appointment comes as part of what the Nigeria Police Force describes as routine administrative restructuring within the organisation.
The transition sees the departure of DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, who is being reassigned to the Delta State Police Command following his recent promotion from Assistant Commissioner of Police. Adejobi had distinguished himself in the role since initially taking over in an acting capacity in February 2022 from CP Frank Mba, with his position later confirmed by then-Inspector-General Usman Alkali Baba.
The police hierarchy has emphasised that these personnel changes represent standard operational adjustments rather than any form of disciplinary action, underlining the non-controversial nature of the redeployments.
This transition marks a significant career advancement for Hundeyin, who will now be responsible for managing the public image and communications strategy of Africa’s largest police force on a national scale.
