The Lagos State Government, via the Lagos State Examinations Board, has approved the 2nd phase of the Year 2025 Entrance Examination (Screening Test) into the state’s 16 model colleges.
LASG recently announced the upgrade of the Junior Secondary Schools in the state.
Speaking via a press statement by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, revealed that the approval happened after various requests by parents of the students.
According to him, the exam will provide another opportunity for eligible primary six pupils, and registration, which started on the 9th of May, will end on August 15.
“We had most of the parents, guardians and schools come to the Lagos State Examinations Board asking if there was a way they could still write the examination.
This is the major reason for the second phase,” he said.
Announcing that the Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaiye, will not be among the selected schools for the examination, Adebayo reiterated that the test will remain the main criterion for placement into any of Lagos State’s model colleges.
He concluded by urging parents, school administrations and guardians to ensure a smooth conduct of the second phase examination exercise.
“The screening test has been scheduled to be held on Aug. 23 at designated Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres across the state, in line with the state’s ongoing commitment to improving digital literacy and innovation in assessment processes.
All eligible candidates are enjoined to visit the Board’s official portal via the link: https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng and complete necessary registration for the examination.
Upon successful registration, candidates are to log in using their USERNAME and PASSWORD to print their examination slips, which contain their details,” he added.
