Nollywood actress, Mo Bimpe has blasted a TikTok user who suggested that her husband, Lateef Adedimeji would marry another wife as she is yet to give him a child.
Bimpe was minding her business and relating with her fans via a post on her social media platform when the troll saw it as an opportunity to drop a distasteful comment that caught her attention.
The user wrote, “Pregnant you no get. No worry, your husband go soon marry another wife,” and the movie star immediately responded by posting a clip with a mocking song and a warning message that read, “If someone has not been treated as a scapegoat, you guys won’t rest yeah.”
This is not the first time the couple would be reacting to trolls mocking her inability to bear a child 4 years after their marriage. Her husband, Lateef has previously talked about the unnecessary pressure his wife faces from womb watchers who are constantly on her case online.
According to him, people have made it a habit to criticise his wife and accuse her of being barren, and they never cease to predict that he would dump her or marry another woman to bear him the fruits of marriage.
He believed the criticism is very unfair and begged Nigerians to be more sensitive because childbirth is a super delicate journey that cannot be rushed. The 40-year-old actor said, “We have always been of the opinion about ourselves. We have conversations all the time. Recently, somebody still called her barren on social media. And she will be like ‘Ade, come and see. That is how they call me all the time. I would just be like leave them. They will be fine. When it is time, what will be will be. Just leave them.
People do not know what you go through. People do not know your decisions. People do not know if you have decided, ‘Okay we are now married. Let us play for three years and maybe after, let us start thinking. What we are building is not what every other person wants to build.”
