During the ongoing Coroner Inquest in Lagos State, Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of the late Nigerian singer, IleriOluwa Aloba, known as MohBad, provided a heart-wrenching account of her husband’s passing, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his tragic demise.
According to MohBad’s widow, the singer passed away inside their residence on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 12, 2023. On that fateful day, he had showered but was not feeling well. MohBad requested that the air conditioner in his room be switched on, but when it failed to work, they swiftly moved him to their son’s room.
While these events unfolded, Omowunmi was in the kitchen, unaware of the gravity of the situation. She emerged from the kitchen to discover a nurse administering an injection to MohBad, who was pleading with the nurse to remove the syringe.
It was at this point that they realized the urgency of the situation and decided to rush MohBad to the hospital. In the car on the way to the hospital, MohBad was in the back seat, and the driver remarked that his hands had become cold.
Promptly, Omowunmi called a motorcycle taxi for her husband’s friend, OG, who accompanied MohBad on one bike, while she took another to head straight to the hospital.
During her testimony, Omowunmi revealed that MohBad had aspirations of flying their son to Canada. He had obtained a visa as part of this plan, as he was determined to ensure their son, Liam, did not clock age one in Nigeria. It had always been MohBad’s dream for his child to be born in Canada, and although they faced financial constraints, he had passionately implored her to allow him to fulfill this dream for their son, a request she ultimately agreed to.
