Wema Bank commemorated its 80th anniversary with a grand celebration at Agbonmagbe, Lagos, on Friday.
The event, themed “Timeless Elegance,” was attended by a host of dignitaries, entertainers and stakeholders, reflecting the bank’s enduring legacy in Nigeria’s financial sector.
The event featured performances from artistes, including Davido, Wande Coal, 9ice, Adewale Ayuba and spoken word poet Ibquake.
These performances added vibrancy to the evening, celebrating the bank’s journey since its inception in 1945.
Videos making rounds online captured the managing director of Wema Bank, Moruf Oseni, paying pleasantries to guests in attendance.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, notably, Ogun and Oyo States Governors, Dapo Abiodun and Seyi Makinde, who lauded Wema Bank’s contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.
Also present were content creator Folagbade Banks, actors Femi Branch, Stan Nze, Damilola Ogunsi and music producer Cobhams Asuquo, among others.
In his address, Moruf Oseni expressed gratitude to the bank’s customers and partners.
He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to digital banking and financial inclusion through its flagship platform, ALAT by Wema, emphasising the institution’s dedication to innovation and customer-centric services.
