The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has set August 1, 2026, as the deadline for companies to comply with statutory rules governing business letters, warning that violators will face sanctions. In a public notice issued Wednesday, the commission said the enforcement drive is anchored on Sections 304(1) and (2) and 729(1)(c) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, and covers all companies registered under the Act or any law it replaced. The law requires every company to state on its business letters the current and any former forename or initials and surname of each director, along with the nationality of non-Nigerian directors. Companies must also display their registered name, registration number and registered office address clearly on all business correspondence. “Commencing the 1st day of August 2026, the Commission shall enforce the full application of the requirements of Sections 304(1) & (2) and 729(1)(c) of the Act with respect to company business letters with attendant sanctions for non-compliance,” the CAC said. The commission urged companies to review their letterheads and official correspondence ahead of the deadline, noting that the move is designed to ensure accurate disclosure of director and corporate information while deepening compliance with CAMA 2020. CAC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and customer satisfaction as part of efforts to build a more resilient and responsive corporate regulatory environment.

Controversial singer Portable has come out to say that he is the 5th best Nigerian singer after Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Olamide.

He recently had his say via an Instagram clip amid his ongoing beef with fellow singer Bella Shmurda.

According to him, he genuinely believes he is next on the list after the established Big 3 and Olamide, and even his Creator can bear him witness.

Portable revealed that he has composed songs that can motivate Bella to be more successful, and while a singer like Barry Jay inherited his music gift from his father, he discovered himself.

“After Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Olamide, I’m next. EMILOKAN.

After those four, EMILOKAN. I swear to God who made me i can sing. You can challenge me to any competition. Another singer who knows how to sing like that is Barry Jay and he inherited the gift from his father. I’m heavily talented and booming. I discovered myself before they discovered me. Bella my songs can motivate your life. They can motivate you to success,” he said.

The drama between both singers happened after Shmurda, during an appearance on the “Curiosity Made Me Ask” podcast hosted by Isbae U, explained why he wouldn’t work with Portable.

He stated that a collaboration would not happen due to a lack of musical compatibility and his desire to avoid drama.

“I just don’t see the connection in the music. I don’t want wahala, I want peace,” he noted.

Reacting, Portable boasted about his international success, dismissing Bella Shmurda as a failed musician who cannot even afford to feature him.

“Anytime you want to do an interview, don’t mention my name again. You can’t feature me? I have been to America, London. It’s not about who blew first, it’s about who’s still blowing,” Portable declared.
