Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has appealed to members of the public to stop spreading false information about the health condition of his estranged wife and Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels.
The lawmaker also condemned the circulation of fabricated reports claiming that the actress had died, warning bloggers and social media users against publishing misleading information about her personal life and health.
Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Monday, where he urged Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give her enough space to recover from her health challenges.
He said the actress needed love, support and understanding rather than criticism, adding that their children also deserved to see their mother receive the necessary care and encouragement.
According to him, Regina has endured several difficulties that many people may not be aware of, noting that a video she shared during her 25th birthday celebration in October provided a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been experiencing.
Nwoko stressed that the actress needed compassion at this time and should not be subjected to public criticism or further emotional pressure.
He expressed particular concern over the circulation of fake death announcements, misleading health reports and other hurtful publications about Regina.
The senator explained that such reports were not harmless social media activities, as the actress reportedly sees many of the publications, which he said cause her considerable distress.
He therefore urged members of the public to discourage the spread of unverified information instead of sharing or amplifying such content.
Nwoko also issued a strong warning to bloggers and social media users deliberately spreading false information about Regina, threatening legal action against anyone found responsible.
He disclosed that publications containing fabricated claims about her death, health and personal circumstances were being documented, adding that those responsible would be dealt with through appropriate legal channels.
The lawmaker further maintained that, despite the difficulties in their relationship, Regina’s well-being had always remained important to him.
The latest development comes amid the prolonged public dispute between the senator and the actress, which became widely publicised in October 2025.
At the time, Regina accused Nwoko of domestic violence in a series of emotional social media posts and videos, alleging that she could no longer tolerate the situation in their marriage.
However, Nwoko denied the allegations and accused the actress of substance abuse, claiming that her alleged consumption of drugs and alcohol contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
He also accused her of engaging in violent confrontations with domestic staff and damaging property at their residence. Regina, however, rejected his claims during their public exchange.
The disagreement intensified in November 2025 after Nwoko’s media team released purported medical and toxicology reports which they claimed supported the allegations of substance use against the actress.
Regina and members of her family challenged the reports, accusing the lawmaker of attempting to damage her reputation and separate her from her loved ones.
In January 2026, the actress shared a drug test result reportedly showing that she tested negative. Nwoko subsequently questioned the authenticity of the result.
More recently, Regina raised concerns about her health during her 25th birthday celebration on October 10, 2026. The actress appeared in a wheelchair and disclosed that she had been battling health difficulties that affected her ability to walk.
She explained that what initially appeared to be a minor health problem gradually became more serious, leaving her in severe pain and sometimes making it difficult for her to move around.
According to Regina, her condition worsened after the 2026 Children’s Day carnival she organised.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko got married in a traditional wedding ceremony in May 2019 and have two sons together.
