Nigerian social media personality Anda Damisa, who built a substantial following under the username “LazyWrita,” has passed away, his family confirmed on December 30th.
Damisa, who had nearly 100,000 Instagram followers, revealed his own passing through a December 29th post featuring personal photographs. In the caption, he reflected on his life, stating he had lived fully but no longer had the strength to continue.
The influencer was recognised for lifestyle content and commercial collaborations on Instagram. He also pursued literary work, publishing a poetry collection titled “A Lazy Poet” in 2019.
Three family members issued a statement acknowledging the tragedy and expressing gratitude for public support while requesting space to grieve. They asked well-wishers to send text messages rather than calling, emphasising their need for privacy during this difficult period.
In recent months, Damisa had been transparent about stepping away from online platforms and facing personal challenges. An October post detailed the emotional toll he experienced, while a November message explained his reduced presence by describing how activities that once brought happiness had become burdensome.
Following news of his death, a friend shared Damisa’s final post, emphasising the importance of mental health awareness and encouraging people to seek help when needed.
Authorities have not released information regarding the cause of death.
