NNPP charge Sanwo-Olu led government to take adequate and precautionary measures to forestall and prevent the outbreak of diseases and epidemic in the state .
The Publicity Secretary of the New Nigerian People’s Party Hon.Richard Benson Echigbue has charged the state governor Babajjde Sanwo-Olu to take drastic measures and be proactive to address the recent irregularities in the waste management system in the state .He said despite the amount of newly purchased waste disposal vehicles for the agency our roads are fast becoming dumping grounds for refuse. This he said will expose the inhabitants to diseases and droplet infections bearing in mind the the present weather in the state

The spokesman said that it shows that this government lacked capable hands in the waste management team that can effectively manage the department and if not rectified could lead to an outbreak of infectious disease in the state and while evaluating the current state of our hospitals that are not well funded and equipped enough to rise-up to the occasion Incase there is an outbreak.
In recent times the Waste disposal vehicles have abandoned their duties in spite of their numbers which have made some major road in the state alternative sites for the people to trash their refuse. This could be seen in all the roads in all the Local Government Areas especially more in these areas: SuruLere Local Government, Alimosho Local Government, , Shomolu Local Government, Mainland Local Government , Amiwo-Odofin Local Government , Mushin Local Government, Apapa Local government, Kosofe and Badagry Local Governments.
Furthermore, he charged the State Government to come up with a frame work and template that will ensure and serve as a tool for control to measure the quality and prompt service delivery of refuse removal to stop the dumping of refuse on the roads. He also charged the state governor Mr Babajjde Sanwo-Olu to ensure that he employs skilled workers and ensure they undergo more trainings on the job for the already limited staff to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively. Furthermore, he also said that due to the ever growing population of Lagos more waste disposal vehicles need to be provided to cushion the workload and employ more staff in delivering and fulfilling the promises it made to the people as dividends of democracy.
