Nollywood actress and producer, Mary Remy Njoku, has called for the scrapping of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB.
She recently questioned the relevance of the examination while wondering why students cannot use their SSCE results to gain admission.
Speaking via her social media page, Mary revealed that she really does not understand the need for writing JAMB and Post JAMB examinations yearly when Senior School Certificate Examination results already prove that a student finished secondary school.
Mary disclosed that she will never stop thanking God for Nollywood because the movie industry really came through for her after JAMB disappointed her severally.
According to her, JAMB should be scrapped totally since it is just another unnecessary exam hurdle meant to stress and frustrate poor Nigerian students.
The movie star maintained that any student who passes WAEC should already be good enough to gain admission into any university, and if specific universities decide to be selective with their picks, they can easily demand better grades in certain subjects.
The filmmaker disclosed that all JAMB does nowadays is frustrate brilliant and capable Nigerian youths yearly, all in the name of helping students get a university degree.
Mary then thanked her Nollywood career for giving her purpose and direction when everything else seemed like a waste of her precious time.
