House of Representatives member Abdulmumin Jibrin has said that President Bola Tinubu will surely secure victory in the 2027 presidential election. He recently revealed that he cannot see anything or anyone stopping BAT from winning the elections in 2027.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, he declared that he is a die-hard Tinubu supporter who backs him irrespective of his affiliation with the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
According to him, his likeness for the president is a mutual one, and they’ve enjoyed a great relationship for many years.
“Again, I believe I cannot see anything that will stop him from winning the elections in 2027. I did not say again; I am saying I believe. There’s no two ways about it. I am a Tinubu person. I like him and he likes me. Irrespective of party affiliation, it has been a great relationship,” he said.
Asked whether his loyalty to Tinubu would override his ties to NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, Jibrin said he would prefer a partnership between Rabiu and Tinubu in 2027.
“No, I’d choose Kwankwaso and Bola Tinubu to work together, but Tinubu as president,” he added.
Jibrin, once a close ally of Tinubu, served as Director-General of the Bola Tinubu Support Group Council.
He defected from APC to Kwankwaso’s NNPP in May 2022, citing internal disputes in the ruling party.
However, his recent visits to the Presidential Villa in August 2025 have reignited speculation that he shifted political alliances ahead of 2027.
