Ogogo: My Family Did Everything Possible, But God Took Him – Adeola

Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Solomon Adeola, has mourned the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after reportedly battling an illness.

In a condolence message issued on Monday, Adeola said his family was closely involved in supporting the late actor and his family during his health challenges.

The senator said they supported Ogogo’s treatment and made every possible effort to ensure he received the medical attention he needed.

“During those difficult moments, we stood closely with him and his family, supporting his treatment and doing everything humanly possible to ensure that he received the necessary medical care,” Adeola said.

He added that they remained hopeful and prayerful that the actor would recover and return to his loved ones and admirers.

“Sadly, despite all efforts, it has pleased Almighty God to call him home. Indeed, God knows best,” he added.

Adeola, in the tribute signed alongside his wife, Temitope Adeola, described Ogogo’s death as a painful loss, particularly following his courageous battle with illness.

The APC candidate said the late actor was not merely a veteran in the entertainment industry but also a dear brother and a proud son of Ilaro and Ogun West.

He noted that Ogogo’s decades-long career brought entertainment to generations of Nigerians while making a significant contribution to the growth of Nollywood.

Adeola said the actor’s talent, humility and body of work would ensure that his legacy remained alive.

He expressed his condolences to Ogogo’s wife, children and other members of his family, as well as the people of Ilaro and Yewaland.

The senator prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and all those mourning the death of the respected actor.
