The Ogun State Executive Council has approved the renaming of the Sagamu–Iperu–Sapade Expressway in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The road will henceforth be known as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway.
The decision aligns with an earlier move by the state government to rename the Artery Bypass, announced during the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport and other infrastructure projects.
In a related development, the council approved the renaming of the former Aviation Village in Iperu after the late Oba Adeleke Basibo.
As part of efforts to improve power supply, the council also sanctioned the procurement of 50 electricity transformers under the Light Up Ogun Project.
To support government operations, approvals were given for the purchase of 20 Suzuki Grand Vitara and 12 Toyota Fortuner vehicles.
Additionally, the council ratified several traditional leadership decisions across the state. This includes the formal declaration of the Olu of Odeda stool in Odeda Local Government Area.
It also confirmed the appointments of Adeyemi Opeaye as the Oludotun of Idotun in Ikenne Local Government Area, Yaya Oriyomi as the Olu of Mowe, and Peter Ogunbayo as the Odemo of Ishara.
