In a statement released by the palace of Oba Elegushi on Monday and signed by its media officer, the family described the rumours as the wicked imaginations of the authors.

The palace insisted that the senior wife of the king is hale and hearty and going about her businesses within and outside the palace.
The statement also thanks concerned friends and family members who reached out to the palace for clarification to put an end to the unfounded rumours.
The palace also warns the peddlers of the wicked rumour to stop with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the law.
