Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on investors who previously moved their businesses out of the state to return and take advantage of the investment opportunities emerging across the state.
Otti made the appeal on Monday while announcing the commissioning of the 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel located on Okigwe Road, Aba.
The governor, in a post on his X platform, praised the Chief Executive Officer of the hotel, Owelle Greg Okafor, for completing the project within two years and a few months.
He described the new hotel as an important addition to Aba’s hospitality industry and investment environment, noting that its completion showed what could be achieved when private enterprise operates in a supportive business environment.
According to Otti, Aba faced serious economic and infrastructural challenges when his administration assumed office, particularly in the areas of road infrastructure and industrial activity.
He, however, said the situation was gradually improving, with businesses returning to the city, property values increasing and new investments being established.
The governor urged investors who had previously relocated from Abia to reconsider their decisions and return to the state, while also encouraging new investors to explore the opportunities being created by his administration.
Otti said the progress recorded so far was only the beginning, adding that the completion of more major projects would further strengthen Aba’s position as one of the leading commercial centres in the country.
He specifically pointed to the Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel, which he said was nearing completion, as another major project expected to support the continued development of Aba and attract further investment.
The governor also appreciated guests, friends and other well-wishers who attended the commissioning ceremony and supported the development of Aba and the wider Abia State.
He congratulated Okafor and the entire ORIS Signature Hotel team for completing the project.
Otti said his administration would continue working towards creating an environment where businesses could operate successfully and investments could flourish.
“Together, we will continue to build an Abia where businesses and investments can thrive and opportunities abound,” the governor said.
