The Global Finance Best Banks Awards 2025 has named Zenith Bank Plc the best bank in Nigeria.
The financial institution won the award for the 5th time in six years, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Zenith Bank was among the winners from 36 nations across Africa that were recognised by the prestigious Global Finance in its 32nd Annual Best Bank Awards.
The winning banks were recognized for attending to their customers’ every need and delivering commendable financial results that lay the foundation for future success. The banks were also rewarded for managing their assets and liabilities smartly amid the fast-changing interest rate reality.
According to the editors of Global Finance, selections were made after thorough consultations with corporate financial executives, bankers and banking consultants, as well as analysts all across the globe.
The factors that played a key role in deciding the eventual winners ranged from the quantitative objective to the informed subjective, and the objectives criteria considered were growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development and innovation in products.
Subjective criteria were based on the opinions of equity analysts, credit rating analysts, banking consultants and others involved in the banking sector.
