Nigerian street-pop singer Portable has welcomed a baby boy with his partner, Omobewaji Ewatomi, bringing joy to his family despite a recent setback in the ring.
The announcement came on Friday after Bewaji shared the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude for a safe delivery and introducing their newborn son, Jamal Iremide. Portable later confirmed the development on his own social media page, appreciating Bewaji and celebrating the new addition.
Interestingly, the child’s birth coincided with the singer’s celebrity boxing match against Carter Efe, where Portable suffered a defeat by unanimous decision.
Despite losing the bout, the singer appeared more focused on the joy of fatherhood. He noted that while he had hoped to win the fight, welcoming his son was a far greater victory. Portable also revealed that the baby was born while he was still participating in the boxing event, making the moment even more memorable.
In a heartfelt message, he praised Bewaji and reflected on the experience, saying that while belts can be bought, a child is priceless.
