Police in Rivers State have detained several Real Madrid Academy staff members following a fire outbreak at the facility.
Those arrested include electricians, cleaners, and security personnel. The detentions were reportedly ordered by a state commissioner after the incident.
The staff were taken into custody Tuesday morning and held at Elekahia Police Station overnight.
Police sources confirmed the arrests are part of investigations into what caused the fire, which broke out at the academy a day earlier.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
The Rivers State Police Command has not released an official statement as investigations continue.
