The vibrant celebration of the inaugural Remo Day transformed the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu into a cultural haven on December 27, 2024. The grand rally, hosted by the Akarigbo of Remoland, drew distinguished guests, including Presidential Chief of Staff Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Among the luminaries, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, Chairman of Adron Group, and Otun Akile of Remoland commanded attention in his stunning wine-coloured agbada with intricate embroidery, complemented by traditional coral beads and a regal fila. His sophisticated presence earned him the title “Remo Day Man of Steeze.”
The celebration, themed “In Unity & Culture, We Thrive,” brought together over 40 communities from across Remoland. The Iyaniwura Base group, under Aare Adetola’s leadership, particularly stood out with their coordinated cultural attire and spirited participation. The event featured traditional performances, including dance and drumming, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage.
As dignitaries and community members paid homage to the Akarigbo of Remoland, the gathering served as a powerful demonstration of unity and progress. Aare Adetola’s presence embodied the perfect blend of traditional values and modern leadership, leaving an indelible mark on this historic celebration of Remoland’s cultural legacy.
The inaugural event not only showcased the region’s cultural wealth but also emphasized the strong bonds between communities under the traditional leadership of the Akarigbo, setting a promising precedent for future celebrations.
