Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed profound shock and grief following the sudden passing of Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represented the Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
The late Senator, who was 64 years old at the time of his death, served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works. Beyond his legislative duties, Mpigi was widely regarded as one of the most influential political figures from the Ogoni extraction in Rivers State and was a staunch ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
