Abuja, Nigeria, Saturday, February 17, witnessed the exclusive executive premiere of “Roberta,” a poignant new film to raise consciousness about the menace of gender based violence, produced by esteemed Nollywood Old-timer and Actress StephNora Okere. The event brought together a distinguished audience comprising influencers, activists, and celebrities, all rallying to address the urgent issue of gender-based violence.

StephNora Okere, in an interview, shared her motivation behind the movie: “Roberta encapsulates the experiences of countless young girls growing up in Africa. I wrote the story from the perspective of the African girl-child, drawing from personal experiences and those around me. Roberta isn’t just one girl’s story; it represents the collective narrative of many. Through this film, we aim to shed light on the prevalent dangers, educate audiences about the signs, and explore potential solutions, particularly for the most vulnerable.”
