Lara Oshiomhole, originally from Cape Verde, an island nation off the West African coast, obtained Nigerian citizenship in 2017. Despite occasional speculation about their relationship status due to infrequent public appearances together, recent reports from late 2025 confirm the couple remains married and recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary with public events.
The footage has generated considerable online discussion, with critics drawing attention to the apparent disconnect between the private jet lifestyle and the senator’s recent public comments suggesting that food prices in Nigeria are affordable. This contrast has struck a chord with many Nigerians facing economic challenges.
While some social media users have criticized what they perceive as a tone-deaf display of wealth, others argue that the private moment represents legitimate personal time and shouldn’t be subject to public scrutiny.
