Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson has announced the death of his father, Samuel Egbuson, marking a somber start to the new year for the entertainment family.
The Bayelsa State-born actor shared the heartbreaking news on Sunday through Instagram, posting photos of his late father accompanied by a poignant message. “Didn’t think I’ll start the year saying this … Rest in peace Dad So much left unsaid but I’ll keep making you proud,” he wrote.
Timini, whose career spans over a decade, has become one of Nollywood’s most recognizable faces through his performances in popular productions including Shuga, Elevator Baby, Fifty, Skinny Girl in Transit, and Manhunting with Mum. His breakthrough came with a role on the soap opera Tinsel in 2010, launching what would become an award-winning career.
The psychology graduate from the University of Lagos has earned critical acclaim for his craft, including the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Drama. He is the younger brother of acclaimed actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande, who also mourns their father’s passing.
As condolences pour in from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry, Timini continues to balance his grief with his ongoing commitments in Nigerian film and television.
