Owen Omogiafo, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), has been conferred an honorary doctorate in business administration from Edo State University, Uzairue. The prestigious award was presented during the university’s fifth convocation ceremony, held on Saturday.
The momentous occasion was graced by Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, alongside numerous other distinguished guests and dignitaries.
Following the ceremony, Owen Omogiafo took to Instagram on Sunday, sharing a video capturing her arrival in Benin, the meeting with Governor Obaseki, the unveiling of the university’s signage, and the momentous award presentation. In her post, she reflected, “East or West, home is best. It was an honor to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Business Administration by the Edo State University, alongside my friend and venture capital extraordinaire, Dr. Eric Idiahi.”
Expressing her gratitude, Omogiafo extended heartfelt thanks to Governor Obaseki and the university for the esteemed recognition. She added, “My utmost appreciation to the Executive Governor of Edo State, @governorobaseki, and the Governing Council of @edostateuniversity for this honor and for the privilege of unveiling the school signage.
