Trino Motion Pictures’ Content Acquisition and Sales division has secured a theatrical distribution agreement with Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution for the feature film “To Adaego with Love,” marking a significant milestone for the newly launched division.
The deal represents the division’s first major transaction since its September 2025 launch and demonstrates Trino’s immediate impact in the distribution market. Operating as sales agent, Trino Motion Pictures brokered the arrangement to bring the film to cinema audiences through a formal theatrical release.
“To Adaego with Love,” which won Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay at AFRIFF 2025, is a post-Civil War romantic drama from Tade Production House Limited. Directed by Nwamaka Chikezie and written and produced by Brenda Ogbukaa-Garuba, the film tells the story of forbidden love between a Northern soldier and an Eastern schoolteacher during a period of national reconciliation.
The film features Chisom Agoawuike, Adam Garba, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, and the late Onyeka Onwenu. Following its February 1, 2026 premiere, the film opened in cinemas nationwide on February 6.
“Our focus remains ensuring that African stories are seen and easily accessible on every screen,” said Uche Okocha, Managing Director of Trino Motion Pictures. “What we have started is a commitment we intend to see through, and this achievement validates that approach.”
The Content Acquisition and Sales division was established to identify quality African stories with global appeal and secure distribution and licensing opportunities in both local and international markets.
Through this theatrical distribution deal, Trino Motion Pictures reinforces its mission to create sustainable commercial pathways for African cinema while providing professional sales representation for producers and filmmakers.
The agreement underscores Trino Motion Pictures’ expanding influence in strengthening the business infrastructure of African film distribution.
