TVC Communications, the parent company of TVC News, TVC Entertainment channel, Max FM, and Adaba FM, has officially announced the launch of the “YourView Pidgin” show. The new program is scheduled to debut tomorrow.
Airing every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., “YourView Pidgin” aims to explore various lifestyle topics, relationships, celebrity gossip, and women’s empowerment.
The show is an expansion of the highly successful morning chat show “YourView,” hosted by TVC Entertainment Managing Director Morayo Afolabi-Brown and her co-hosts.
Afolabi-Brown expressed her excitement about the upcoming show, stating: “The hosts of ‘YourView Pidgin’ will bring a wealth of broadcasting experience, along with their unique insights and knowledge, providing the audience with the quality entertainment they deserve.”
The launch of “YourView Pidgin” strategically targets the Pidgin English-speaking audience nationwide.
The managing director emphasized that the goal of the new program is to engage with Nigerians who might feel somewhat disconnected from discussions about social and current issues.
Speaking about the significance of using Pidgin-English, Afolabi-Brown said: “Pidgin is a language of the masses, and one of the best ways to connect people is through a relatable language. It provides a platform for ordinary Nigerian women to express their opinions on social issues, life matters, governance, and all aspects of celebrity life.”
The show pledges to feature notable guests and entertaining segments, with active audience participation.
The seasoned lineup of hosts includes Uvbi Balogun, Chika Okeke, Abigail Gogo-Ogute, Moyosore Ahmed, and Damilola Banire.
Balogun, serving as the host and moderator of the new show, shared her excitement, saying: “I am extremely thrilled and eagerly anticipate working closely with the entire team and my new co-hosts. Get ready, Nigeria, your Saturday mornings are about to become electrifying!”
