Chevron Nigeria Limited has highlighted its over 60-year heritage as a key investor and one of the largest oil and gas producers in Nigeria. The company recently reiterated its commitment to delivering affordable, reliable, and clean energy to Nigerians.
Speaking while welcoming the Executive Vice President (EVP) Upstream of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Udobong Ntia, to its Escravos operations base for an official visit that underscored the strategic import of Chevron’s role in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, Director of Operations/Chief Operating Officer of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Segun Kuteyi, revealed that Chevron deserves praise for overseeing one of Nigeria’s largest deepwater discoveries.
According to him, the company would keep doing its very best to solve energy challenges across the country, while ensuring its integrity and accountability as an organization stay intact.
“Our business spans exploration, production, gas development, and deepwater operations—including the Agbami Field, one of Nigeria’s largest deepwater discoveries.
At the core of our business is the Chevron Way, which outlines our core beliefs, values, and purpose: delivering affordable, reliable, and ever cleaner energy; promoting human ingenuity to solve energy challenges; and operating with trust, integrity, and accountability,” he said.
During the visit, Udobong Ntia was briefed on Chevron’s integrated operations, which include conventional assets both onshore and offshore, the Escravos Gas Plant (EGP), and the Escravos Gas-to-Liquids (EGTL) facility—one of only five such plants globally.
Reacting, the EVP hailed Chevron’s collaboration with local communities, stressing that it has helped the company to sustain its social licence to operate in regions where other international operators have exited due to operational challenges.
He concluded by saying that Chevron’s innovative use of technology, especially the deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for asset monitoring, continues to make the company stand out among its peers.
