Wema Bank has launched an upgraded version of ALAT, its flagship digital banking platform, introducing advanced features designed to transform how customers interact with their finances.
The upgraded ALAT app brings voice banking through a feature called SAW, which allows customers to perform banking transactions using natural voice commands. The update also includes Tap and Pay for contactless payments and uptime prediction to provide greater transparency about service availability.
Managing Director and CEO Mr. Moruf Oseni described the launch as more than just an upgrade. “ALAT: The Evolution is a clear demonstration of our commitment to redefining digital banking in Africa. We have created a platform that is smart, intelligent, and dependable,” he said.
Existing customers can update their app through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store while retaining all their account information and transaction history. New customers can download the app and begin onboarding immediately.
Chief Digital Officer Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi explained that the upgrade focuses on enhancing the overall banking experience. “By integrating voice banking, contactless payments, and predictive reliability, we are delivering a platform that responds intelligently to customer needs,” he stated.
The upgraded ALAT platform emphasizes speed, intelligence, and user-centric design, positioning Wema Bank as a leader in digital-first banking solutions for Nigeria’s increasingly digital economy.
