Nigeria’s oldest indigenous bank, Wema Bank, has been named the gold winner of the 2025 Global Council of Corporate Universities (GlobalCCU) award for “Best Corporate University Culture.”
The awards ceremony, which took place in Paris, France, appreciated Wema Bank’s prestigious training institute, Purple Academy, for its success and strategic impact in driving learning culture.
Organised every 2 years and respected for being the recognition pinnacle of corporate education, the GlobalCCU Awards hosted the most innovative and top-class corporate universities across the globe, streamlining nominees via a comprehensive process that was led by an international jury.
Wema Bank was celebrated for owning an impactful academy that provides immeasurable value to people, businesses and the society at large, a feat that a large number of attendees agreed with.
Reacting to the win, Managing Director/CEO of Wema Bank, Moruf Oseni, revealed that the award is further proof that the financial institution will always prioritise equipping every member of our workforce with the tools to grow, lead, innovate and evolve.
