Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, were among the dignitaries who attended the wedding of Chikamkpa, son of former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, in Abuja.
Chikamkpa tied the knot with his bride, Anita, on Saturday in a traditional ceremony that drew a host of political and business leaders from across the country.
Other notable guests included former Imo State governor Emeka Ihedioha, former Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, and 2023 Rivers State APC governorship candidate Tonye Cole. Several serving governors, senators, ministers, traditional rulers, and captains of industry were also present.
Sharing photos from the event on his X page, Amaechi expressed gratitude to all who joined his family in celebration.
“It was a beautiful ceremony. I’m thankful to all who showed up to celebrate with us. Proud father, now father-in-law. P/S: my son, Dr. Chikamkpa Amaechi and Anita’s traditional marriage ceremony,” he wrote.
Amaechi, who served as Rivers State governor from 2007 to 2015 and later as Minister of Transportation from 2015 to 2022 under President Muhammadu Buhari, resigned from office to contest the APC presidential primaries in 2022, where he finished second to President Bola Tinubu.
