Former Governor of Ogun State and current Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy, Otunba Senator Gbenga Daniel, has extended warm felicitations to Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan-designate, ahead of his official coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the monarch-in-waiting on Friday, Senator Daniel described the throne of the Olubadan as one of honour, deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Africa’s largest city and the Yoruba race.
He praised Oba Ladoja’s journey through politics, business, and statesmanship, highlighting his resilience, foresight, and service to Nigeria.
“Your life’s journey, from the Senate chambers to the Governorship of Oyo State, and from boardrooms of enterprise to the heights of statesmanship, has been marked by resilience, foresight, and unwavering service. Truly, greatness belongs to men of valour,” the letter partly read.
Senator Daniel further noted that the ascension of Oba Ladoja to the revered throne is both a personal honour and divine recognition of his steadfastness. He urged the monarch-designate to continue to unite, prosper, and guide Ibadanland with wisdom.
Wishing him a long and prosperous reign, Senator Daniel prayed for peace, progress, and divine blessings upon Ibadan under the new monarch’s leadership.
“K’ádé pẹ l’órí, kí bàtà pẹ l’ésè, Kabiyesi,” he concluded, invoking the traditional Yoruba prayer for long life and reign.
