A governorship Aspirant under All Progressives Congress APC in Ekiti State Engr. Kayode Ojo, has celebrated the teachers on World Teachers Day. He recently described teachers as the major trigger for the development of any society.
In a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on this year’s Teachers Day celebration, Engr. Kayode Ojo shared that teachers deserve praise for shaping Nigerian kids and youths towards nation-building.
He hailed Ekiti Teachers as partners in progress, stressing the need for them to be properly remunerated, motivated, and trained to deliver the best service to their students.
Appreciating teachers for their sacrifices to impact positively on the lives of both students and youths in Ekiti, he emphasised that they still get the job done despite the systematic errors under the present government.
“Teachers’ roles at modelling both children and youths towards nation building cannot be under estimated, hence the need to always prioritise their welfares.
Teaching profession needs to be treated with desired respect and dignity because of its foundational roles at developing the society by incurcating both academic and social values on the lives of the people,” he said.
The current Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing council, University of Nigeria Nsukka UNN, further praised President Bola Tinubu for prioritising teachers welfares as one of the main policies of his administration.
Insisting that state governors across the country must complement BAT’s policy, the industrialist and engineer turned politician assured Ekiti teachers of a better teaching environment to work in if he wins this month’s APC governorship primary and the 2026 Ekiti governorship elections in the state.
He maintained that with him as Governor, Ekiti teachers will be duly compensated with incentives, training, quick payment of salary, and daily motivation.
Congratulating every teacher in Ekiti on this year’s celebration, Kayode urged them to keep putting in their best to develop the state.
