Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, will present his manifesto for the 2027 election on Friday, October 30.
Musiliu Obanikoro, director general of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, announced this on Sunday at a press conference at the campaign office in Ikeja.
Obanikoro said the event will hold at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu, from 3pm to 5pm, with arrivals starting at 11am.
He said Hamzat, who is the state’s deputy governor, will outline his plans and priorities for Lagos, adding that the campaign rests on two principles.
“Our campaign is anchored on two principles: continued shared progress and inclusivity,” Obanikoro said.
According to him, continuity means building on existing development plans, improving public services and tackling current challenges, while inclusivity means ensuring residents are represented regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender or social status.
Obanikoro noted that Lagos faces challenges in transportation, housing, infrastructure, security, healthcare, education and environmental management because of its large population and limited land area. He said these problems demand experienced leadership, proper planning and practical solutions.
He credited successive APC administrations, from Bola Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode to the incumbent, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with contributing to the state’s development. Hamzat, he said, will build on existing projects and address areas that need improvement.
The campaign DG pointed to Hamzat’s background in the private sector and public service, including his time as commissioner and deputy governor, as relevant to his plans for the state.
He added that the campaign had consulted religious leaders, traditional rulers, traders, market women, youths, professionals, artisans and community leaders, to ensure the candidate’s proposals reflect residents’ needs.
Obanikoro invited journalists, party members and other stakeholders to the launch, but said attendance is by invitation because of limited seating.
The event will be broadcast live from 3pm to 5pm on Channels Television, ARISE TV, TVC, Lagos Television and News Central, as well as the campaign’s digital platforms.
He said the manifesto will be available for download after the presentation, so members of the public can review it and send feedback through party channels.
