The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has hailed former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. He recently welcomed the former senator to the ruling party, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Reacting to the development in a post on his X handle, Keyamo simply described Murray-Bruce as an upright man.
According to him, the Silverbird TV owner’s outspokenness makes APC a natural home for him ahead of the forthcoming elections.
He stated that the ruling party is a progressive family that will boost his political career.
“My dear elder brother @benmurraybruce, I want to specially welcome you to the progressive family.
Your antecedents of forthrightness, outspokenness and altruism make the APC a natural home for you,” he said.
He further noted that the defection automatically means Bruce is no longer a background politician in his state.
Keyamo concluded by saluting the media personality for being courageous enough to take the bold step.
“As of today, you are automatically a co-owner of the house in your state, not a back-bencher.
That is the tradition in our party, and that is how warmly we welcome everyone.
Take a bow for this courageous decision, my big brother!” he added.
