The Nigerian Army is now accepting applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, calling on qualified Nigerians to join as commissioned officers in specialized units.
The recruitment targets professionals in fields critical to military operations, including engineering, communications, healthcare, and education. Eligible candidates can apply for positions in the Nigerian Army Engineers, Signals, Medical Corps, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and Education Corps.
Applications run from January 7 to February 4, 2026, through a free online portal. Both civilians and current military personnel who meet the professional and academic requirements may apply.
The Army emphasized that the entire process is free of charge and warned against fraudsters demanding money for recruitment assistance. Officials stressed that no payment or external influence can affect selection outcomes.
Applicants are advised to submit early to avoid last-minute technical issues and to use only official Army channels for information. For inquiries, the Army provided contact lines—08179269294 and 08109959294—available daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Through this initiative, the Army aims to strengthen its operational capabilities by bringing in skilled professionals to support national defense and security operations.
