The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has announced a free digital skills programme set to benefit 8,400 Nigerians as part of celebrations marking the 84th birthday of General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who turns 84 on March 2.
The programme, scheduled to kick off on March 1, 2026, is designed to address youth unemployment and close the widening digital gap that continues to shut many young Nigerians out of economic opportunities.
RCCG Continent 3 Overseer, Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola, announced the initiative in a statement released in Lagos, describing it as one of several activities planned for the birthday commemoration and a reflection of Adeboye’s lifelong commitment to education, youth development, and national progress.
“By investing in digital capacity building, RCCG Continent 3 seeks to honour the General Overseer’s legacy of raising empowered, purpose-driven individuals who positively impact society,” Odesola said.
Participants will receive training in video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, content creation, and skill monetisation — areas identified as essential for employability and entrepreneurship in Nigeria’s fast-growing digital economy.
“This is not merely a birthday celebration — it is a strategic investment in the future of our nation,” Odesola added. “By empowering 8,400 individuals with digital skills, we are creating pathways out of poverty and positioning Nigerians to compete in the global digital economy.”
Pastor Olalekan Adebekun, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Love Transformation Academy, explained that RCCG parishes across regions, provinces, and zones within Continent 3 will function as study centres, with training delivered via Zoom to allow participants to learn within their local communities. The arrangement ensures that those without personal internet access or devices can still benefit by attending sessions at designated church facilities.
Beyond the training itself, participants will also have access to mentorship, follow-up support, and integration opportunities — and the programme is open to non-church members as well.
Adebekun encouraged youths, students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and members of the general public to register and take advantage of the offer, which organisers say will support freelance careers and help nurture a new generation of digital entrepreneurs and content creators.
The programme is being coordinated by Love Transformation Academy — the empowerment arm of RCCG Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1 — in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants, combining the church’s grassroots reach with specialised technical training to advance digital inclusion across the country.
