All praise belongs to Allah, who has blessed us with the arrival of Ramadan a month overflowing with mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance. Yet within this sacred month lies a treasure so profound that its value defies comprehension: Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree.
As the final nights of Ramadan descend upon us, the call to every sincere heart grows urgent rise, seek, and devote yourself completely.
Allah Himself declares the magnitude of this night in the Qur’an: “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (Qur’an 97:2–3). Do the mathematics — a thousand months is over eighty-three years. One night of sincere worship, offered with a humble and devoted heart, carries the reward of an entire lifetime. This is not poetry. This is divine promise.
Laylatul Qadr is also the night the Qur’an first descended to earth — the moment divine guidance was gifted to humanity. On this night, angels fill the heavens, descending with blessings, mercy, and peace until the break of dawn.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not merely speak of this night — he lived for it. His beloved wife Aisha (RA) described how, upon entering the final ten nights of Ramadan, he would intensify his worship, stay awake in prayer, and awaken his entire household to do the same. This was not routine devotion. This was spiritual urgency.
The precise date of Laylatul Qadr remains deliberately concealed — a divine wisdom that pushes believers to strive across all the odd nights of the final ten, rather than saving effort for a single evening. The Prophet ﷺ instructed: “Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan.” (Bukhari & Muslim).
So tonight, and every remaining night — pray, recite, supplicate, give charity, and remember Allah abundantly. Let no final night of Ramadan pass in idleness or sleep when the gates of heaven stand wide open.
Whoever meets this night with faith and sincerity shall emerge forgiven, renewed, and immeasurably rewarded.
May Allah grant us all the blessing of Laylatul Qadr and accept our deeds in this sacred month. Amin.
Allahuma baligna Laylatul Qadr.
