President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu on Saturday participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Lagos State.
The couple cast their participation votes at Ward E in Ikoyi, where party members and supporters gathered in large numbers for the exercise.
Upon their arrival at the venue, the atmosphere turned lively as supporters welcomed them with cheers, while the popular political anthem “On Your Mandate” played in the background.
The APC primary is part of the party’s nationwide exercise to select its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections. Voting is taking place across 8,809 wards in the country, involving millions of registered party members.
Ahead of the exercise, reports indicated that about 14 million APC members were eligible to participate. The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, had earlier stated that the membership strength was approaching 14 million, with a significant proportion made up of young Nigerians aged between 18 and 35.
He also noted that the APC considers itself one of the most youth-driven political parties in the country based on its membership composition.
The party’s presidential ticket is being contested by President Bola Tinubu and Osifo Stanley, who are the only aspirants in the race for the 2027 election.
