Celebrated Nigerian actress Omowunmi Dada has revealed her recent leg surgery following a prolonged battle with pain. The 35-year-old star shared her health journey on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a video documenting her recovery process.
The emotional footage captured her hospital stay, rehabilitation with crutches, supportive visits from friends, and medical examinations, including X-rays.
In her candid post, Dada reflected on her silent struggle: “Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realising the weight we bear behind the scenes.” She described continuing to work despite her condition, appearing on sets and maintaining her public persona while privately suffering.
The actress, known for recent roles in films like “Ada Omo Daddy,” “The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi,” and “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti,” expressed how humbling it was to temporarily lose independence over basic activities. She thanked her medical team, friends, and family for their unwavering support during her ongoing recovery.
“I’m still healing,” Dada shared, “but my healing is beautiful.”
