Olakunle Churchill, Nigerian businessman has expressed profound gratitude following a historic reconciliation with his ex-wife, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, after nearly ten years of public disagreement.
The breakthrough came when Churchill received an unexpected phone call from his son, King Andre, marking the first direct contact between father and son in years. The emotional moment, which saw young King Andre address him as “Daddy,” has been described by Churchill as a life-changing experience.
A DECADE OF DISCORD COMES TO AN END
The former couple’s separation in 2017 became one of Nigeria’s most publicized celebrity breakups, characterized by allegations, emotional turmoil, and years of strained communication. Social media became the primary venue for their unresolved conflicts, with both parties engaging in public exchanges that kept their personal struggles in the spotlight.
However, recent developments have seen a dramatic shift in their relationship. Earlier this week, Tonto Dikeh shared a heartfelt public message expressing appreciation to Churchill for choosing reconciliation and allowing faith to guide their path forward.
CHURCHILL’S HEARTFELT RESPONSE
Taking to Instagram, Churchill responded to Dikeh’s gesture with his own reflections on their journey toward healing. His message emphasized themes of faith, forgiveness, and personal transformation.
“I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from my son, King Andre, for the first time. Hearing him call me ‘Daddy’ was deeply touching and a reminder that what God cannot do does not exist,” Churchill wrote.
He continued: “Faith has a way of bringing clarity, humility, and peace. I acknowledge the growth and grace evident in the manner in which this matter has been resolved. With God leading, healing and understanding have become possible.”
Churchill emphasized that forgiveness has created space for a fresh start, with both parents now committed to moving forward with mutual respect and a shared focus on their son’s wellbeing.
COMMITMENT TO CO-PARENTING
The businessman made clear that past conflicts are now behind them, with both parents dedicating themselves to collaborative parenting centered on love and care for King Andre.
“The conflict is behind us, and we are now focused on co-parenting with love, care, and a shared commitment to raising our son,” Churchill stated. “I am grateful for the journey we’ve been on and the growth we’ve experienced.”
He concluded his message by thanking Tonto Dikeh directly: “I am grateful to have my son back in my life. Thank you to the amazing mother of my son, Tonto Dikeh, for doing a good job.”
A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS
What once appeared to be an irreparable division has transformed into a story of redemption and hope. Both parents are now prioritizing King Andre’s upbringing in an environment characterized by respect and cooperation.
The reconciliation serves as a powerful reminder of the capacity for personal growth, the strength found in forgiveness, and the importance of putting children’s needs first when resolving parental differences.
As Churchill and Dikeh embark on this new phase of collaborative parenting, their focus remains firmly fixed on providing their son with the stable, loving foundation he deserves—turning a painful past into a promising future built on understanding and shared purpose.
