AD Consulting, in partnership with Ecobank Nigeria, is set to bring together leading figures in Nigeria’s art and architecture sectors for “The Convergence: The Iconic Architect & the Icons of Art,” a cultural event celebrating creativity, heritage and legacy.
The seven-day event is scheduled to hold from October 1 to 7, 2026, at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) on Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The initiative will feature internationally recognised architect and AD Consulting founder, Olajumoke Adenowo, alongside some of Nigeria’s prominent visual artists. The exhibition is designed to explore the relationship between architecture, art and African heritage.
Artists expected to showcase their works include Abiodun Olaku, Bunmi Babatunde, Kehinde Adewuyi, Tayo Quaye, Mufu Onifade, Alex Nwokolo, Fidelis Odogwu, Kassi Nathalie, Dotun Popoola, Steve Ekpenisi, Collins Abinoro and Joshua Nmesirionye, among others.
Adenowo said the event was conceived to demonstrate how art and architecture preserve cultural identity and create lasting legacies.
According to her, the two creative fields serve as enduring expressions of a people’s history, values and aspirations, while “The Convergence” provides an avenue to celebrate Nigeria’s creative heritage and encourage conversations around identity, beauty, ownership and legacy.
She explained that the event goes beyond a conventional art exhibition, describing it as an intentional meeting point for architecture, art and people interested in preserving ideas, culture and heritage for future generations.
Adenowo also said the programme would draw from her Neo Heritage philosophy, which combines Africa’s cultural inheritance with contemporary creative expression.
The concept is built around three design pillars: Light, Zeitgeist and The 4th Dimension.
Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Ecobank Nigeria, Austen Osokpor, said the partnership would provide an opportunity to support African creative excellence while bringing together culture, creativity, private wealth and enterprise.
Osokpor noted that African wealth extends beyond financial resources to include culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage, which he said should be preserved and transferred to future generations.
He added that the initiative reflects Ecobank’s interest in creating platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities while promoting African creativity within the wider global cultural space.
Unlike a traditional exhibition or art fair, “The Convergence” will focus on dialogue around how art and architecture influence identity, preserve cultural memory and contribute to enduring legacies.
The programme will commence on October 1 with an exclusive Collectors & Patrons Evening for invited collectors, patrons, high-net-worth individuals and other distinguished guests.
The opening event will offer guests the opportunity to view the artworks, interact with participating artists and explore themes surrounding art, architecture, ownership, cultural stewardship and legacy.
The wider exhibition will remain open from October 2 to 7, allowing a broader audience to experience the artworks and engage with the ideas behind the initiative.
Other activities planned for the programme include a Patron’s Preview, Founders’ Cocktail featuring an Architecture Salon by AD Consulting, and a Collectors’ Circle, alongside private viewing sessions and engagements with participating artists.
