The vibrant Alimosho community witnessed a spectacular celebration of fashion, culture, and creativity as Alimosho Fashion Week 2025 drew to a successful close. The highly anticipated two-day event, hosted at the prestigious Ikeja Country Club from Friday, August 29 to Saturday, August 30, brought together an impressive gathering of designers, models, and fashion enthusiasts from across Lagos, further solidifying its reputation as one of the city’s premier fashion destinations.
This year’s edition embraced the powerful theme “Be Original,” emphasising authenticity while seamlessly blending rich African heritage with contemporary global fashion trends. During the opening ceremony, the Convener of Alimosho Fashion Week articulated the event’s deeper significance beyond mere fashion exhibition.
“This year’s edition was not just about fashion; it was about creating opportunities for young designers, supporting local businesses, and showcasing the cultural wealth of our community to the world,” the convener stated, highlighting the event’s commitment to community development and cultural preservation.
The runway came alive with stunning presentations from over 20 talented designers, representing both emerging talents and established fashion houses. The diverse lineup featured collections that masterfully fused contemporary urban aesthetics with traditional-inspired couture, creating a captivating visual narrative of modern African fashion.
The participating designers included EBILE, IKM, SIMPLEX, REINE Apparel, DGENIUS, YDC, BO3STYLES, OGÉDAYÒ, JMD, BORRIS, PÀKÓ, Thatpurpledot X TPD, BECCA COUTURE, KRYSTYNA KRAFT, JUDY SIGNATURE, CRYSTALVEEYATELIER, NEW MAP, LALA WEARS, EMMY CARTER, and SHALLYBLAQ, each bringing their unique creative vision to the prestigious platform.
The event achieved unprecedented success, attracting a record-breaking audience of more than 300 guests. The diverse crowd included passionate fashion enthusiasts, key industry stakeholders, and influential cultural figures, all united in their appreciation for the exceptional blend of style, artistry, and community spirit that defined the showcase.
